Fellow Newspaper Guild members who work for the Associated Press have been in very tough contract bargaining for 6 months now and are holding protest rallies next week at more than 30 locations. They’ve done rallies in mid-March, and other mobilizations, which pushed AP to withdraw a proposal to increase health-insurance premiums 50-150 percent. Management and the union are still far apart on the other economic issues, which include AP’s demand to freeze pensions and a below-inflation raise. Please come meet your AP colleagues, and help them pass out fliers and talk with members of the public at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 12, in front of AP's Seattle offices. Contact reporter Gene Johnson if you can make it at email@example.com or 206-963-4485.
