Let's lift a glass to the print P-I!
Do you now, or did you ever work for the Seattle Post-Intelligencer? Then my friends, it is time to party!
Yes, the print P-I is dead, which is more than enough reason to get drunk. Staffers at the P-I are celebrating the newspaper’s life and death with a special party this Friday.
WHO: P-I employees past and present, plus partners and kids.
WHAT: A last chance to say goodbye to the P-I featuring live music, light appetizers and a silent auction early in the evening, followed by music, dancing, tears, commiserating and drunkenness ’til the wee hours.
WHEN: 7 p.m. to 1 a.m. Friday, March 27.
WHERE: Shilshole Bay Beach Club, 6411 Seaview Ave NW, Seattle, 206-706-0257.
WHY: You were there, you know why.
Since the Hearst Corp. is not contributing to the cost of this party (it’s not too late, Steve!), a $10 donation per person is suggested to help cover the costs of the event. If money is left over, it will go to laid-off P-I employees in need.
Please send checks to Lisa Stiffler, 12755 4th Ave NW, Seattle, 98177, or contribute online by going to www.paypal.com. Under “Pay online” select “Send money,” then address it to: lisastiffler@yahoo.com.
(Lisa was Guild co-chair of the P-I bargaining unit.)
